One Month

It has already been one month since I was operated on. I can’t believe it. When I really think about it I have come a long way. Yes, it is still painful but I am moving around and pretty independent when it comes to taking care of myself. I made myself breakfast the other morning ๐Ÿ™‚

The pain in my left leg is finally beginning to subside since I have stopped my turns. I have about a week and a half to go on the right and so far there hasn’t been an increase in pain. Fingers crossed. We are going to be in West Palm Beach for a few more weeks. My next appointment with Dr. Paley is on May 9 and hopefully then we get the clearance to stop turns on the right leg and let the consolidation phase begin.

I have come to find that I actually sleep better in my wheelchair than I do in an actual bed. Go figure. So the past few nights I have transferred to my chair in the middle of the night and actually slept in the next morning. At this point I am so sleep deprived that I will do anything to get some shut-eye.

So far it has been a low key weekend. Hopefully tomorrow I will get in the pool and do some more therapy. My worst fear is getting a muscle contracture in my knee so I need to keep moving as much as possible.

Today was “eh” but tomorrow is another day and I am hoping for a better one. Maybe those glasses of sangria I had at dinner will do me some good ๐Ÿ™‚

It’s a bit blurry but this is Joseph (JoJo), my little hero, and I by the pool one night. He will be coming back to WPB next week for a visit.

Love and light.
