As always, new and exciting things continue to pop up in my life. I say ‘new and exciting’ with the utmost sarcasm possible. It isn’t even a week after the removal and now I have an area of skin breakdown over one of my scars where the cast has been rubbing. Major ouch and super gross looking. After conferring with one of the PAs they suggested keeping my leg out of the cast as often as possible for healing purposes. If it doesn’t improve this week then I may have to get a hole cut in the cast over the area of breakdown. It’s always something; one thing after another.

On the other hand, all of the other pin sites have healed beautifully. I must admit, I am blessed when it comes to superficial healing. Bone-wise not so much obviously. At this point, I’ll take what I can get.
