You have probably figured out by now that I LOVE to give love. Whether it be in the form of a hug, a home cooked meal, a ‘LOVE BOMB’ text or maybe a Smirnoff Ice [kidding… sort of], there is nothing that makes me happier than to connect with others and let them know that they are loved.
Last week, I got to practice with Rachel Brathen, otherwise known as Yoga Girl, with over 400 other yogis here in Charleston. Aside from knowing that I was going to share the practice with one of my best soul sisters, Jessica, I really didn’t have any expectations. Before the event, Jess and I had some much needed, raw conversation over tea. It had been awhile since we had seen each other and it felt oh-so good to catch up.
A subject that came up for me is that lately, I have had a hard time staying motivated and keeping a positive mindset. After severely hurting my back last May, I am still dealing with discomfort. I have never done well with setbacks and this experience in particular has really thrown me for a loop. Now more than ever, it is really important for me to love and honor myself – put energy into what lights me up and fills my love tank. Something I haven’t been particularly good about. Again, I’m a lover and I will do anything for those I care about. But when that outpouring of love and kindness is met by inauthentic character or it is taken advantage of… Houston, we have a problem.
It’s mind blowing how much lighter I felt after simply being heard. When we release heavy burdens, we make room for possibility. Well, let me tell you, I hadn’t been in line to enter the convention center for 15 minutes when something incredible happened. A mother and her daughter, also in line, approached me asking if I knew TJ Hark. (One of my greatest friends, I know him very well.) Apparently she had seen this post that Taylor had made and with one of her best friends having a daughter with dwarfism, the article resonated with her. Universes colliding? I think yes.
As our practice with Rachel began, she drew an Angel card. It’s message was, “You are understood. The angels send you this card because every aspect of your personality and existence makes perfect sense to them. You may feel flawed or that you’ve made mistakes. This card reminds you that nothing is a mistake. Everything is a divine appointment. Know that Heaven and the Angels see you as a perfect being and they have been with you every step of your life. They know who you are and they see your divine perfection. The angels completely understand why you have made every decision. Allow yourself to revel in the comfort of knowing that there is a force much bigger than any human on this planet, and this force sees you as a flawless soul doing the best you can.”
Now, I know for a fact that I was not the only soul in that room who thought to themelves, “Whoa!”
