So Close!

Wow. Only 2 days to go. It’s hard to believe that it has been 8 months since I started this whole crazy process. What initially seemed like the longest road ever is now just a wrinkle in time. One that was completely worth it.

After posting the article from theDigitel Charleston yesterday, $155.00 in donations have already been made. So incredible. I can’t thank my friend Amanda enough for writing the article.

Yesterday, after leaving at 4:30 in the morning, I made it to my pre-op appointment at St. Mary’s, just in time. Natalie, Dr. Paley’s nurse was wonderful and we got all of the paperwork and labs done quite quickly. Everything is now set for Monday. 10:00am I have to be at the hospital. The nerves are now starting to kick in. My body is also starting to rebel on me and decided that this was the perfect time to get sick. I woke up this morning with a cough and congestion. Oh yippee skippy. NOT going to cut it. They will not operate if I am sick and I swear on my life, if this frame does not come off, I will just drop dead. Ok, maybe that is a slight exaggeration but I think by now you understand how desperate I am to have this god-for-saken thing off my leg. Airborne is now my beverage of choice.

Once again, we are staying at Homewood Suites in WPB; home away from home. Everyone is amazing here. As soon as I walked through the doors I greeted my “other” family that dad and I got to know so well during our long stay here over the summer. The weather right now is sunny and 77. Couldn’t ask for a better day to sit on the patio and write.

Enjoy the weekend 🙂

Love and lots of warm sunshine.
